Karen has 20 years of experience working on sustainability matters having worked domestically and internationally within corporations, NGOs as well as intergovernmental organizations.

For the last eight years, Karen was the Director of Sustainability at The Coca-Cola Company. As such, Karen was responsible for leading and embedding the global sustainability strategy into the beverage giant’s brands and business – contributing to sustainable growth and sustainable communities.

Prior to joining Coke, Karen lived and worked in Europe for 12 years and led European and global advocacy campaigns for WWF – the conservation organization. Following a post-graduate degree in Advanced European Studies, she began her career in Brussels tracking European environmental and social policy matters for multi-national corporations such as Mars, McDonald’s and L’Oreal. Karen also worked in Paris for UNESCO in the division of environmental education and is fluent French and Dutch.

Karen also previously served as a Senior Associate with the University of Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership (CPSL). She was also involved with The Prince’s Rainforest Project where she worked to engage the support of corporate America to call for emergency action to help combat climate change by addressing rainforest destruction.

In her current role as Sustainability Practice Leader at Wisdom Works, Karen assist clients in building strategies which achieve positive economic, environmental and social impacts.

Karen was named one of the Top 10 Women in Sustainability by Technica in 2012, was named one of the Top Women in business by Pink Magazine in 2007, and made Who’s Who in America in 2008. Her great loves are art, nature and children.
