WNSF was conceived in 1999 during The National Town Meeting for a Sustainable America, sponsored by of the President’s Council on Sustainable Development (PCSD) and the Global Environment & Technology Foundation (GETF). The organization was registered as a 501(c) 3 in 2000.
Research shows that women as a whole have a particularly strong commitment to the three components of sustainability– economic, environmental and social. Businesswomen believe they benefit from a network of like-minded executives to move sustainability initiatives forward.
